Giving someone an education is essential and has enormous benefits. The fascinating thing about it is that no one can predict what one person who receives education can go on to accomplish.

Because of poverty, conflict, or natural disaster, education is often only a pipe dream for many kids. They are painfully constrained to a life of low-paying casual work, which exposes children to child trafficking, leaves them homeless and forced to beg on the streets, exposes them to disease, causes them to join gangs and deal drugs, and causes a host of other problems. We are aware that children are incredibly valuable and that, given the chance, they are more than capable of enjoying an education. We value children’s intelligence and the wonder of their imagination, and we want to support as many kids as we can in realizing their goals.

Many children who live in poverty find it extremely difficult to receive education. Most families struggle just to buy food, let alone pay for their children’s education, especially if they have many children. Education is simply not an option for the families that we assist as they already struggle to provide for their children’s basic needs. Not only are they required to pay the tuition, but also the additional costs associated with school supplies including textbooks, uniforms, shoes, and exam fees. A child runs the risk of being sent home if they don’t have what they need when they go to school.

Iietta Foundation’s Child Sponsorship Program sponsors educational initiatives to help address this. We passionately believe in educating people because it gives them the chance to break the cycle of poverty and do so much more.

By paying for their school tuition, providing uniforms, and covering the cost of their test fees, we are giving at-risk children and those who are living in severe poverty the chance to pursue an education. Additionally, we are aiming to enhance the learning environment for kids and the resources accessible to teachers.
